The Village Mall kick-offs Festive season with carols

The evening of Sunday 6th December saw The Village mall start the festive season with an evening of Christmas carols. The quite chilly evening  saw people seated by 6:30pm and begun with lighting of the Christmas lights in tandem with “silent night” by the African Children’s choir which featured little candles carefully arranged on the mall’s balconies, accompanied by flares and poppers for dramatic effect.
Eli then took the stage accompanied by Deejay Joe on the decks. The host of the night Maurice Kirya did a splendid job of keeping the crowd engaged as Mo Roots came on stage to sing an old favorite, “Little Drummer boy”.

The crowd consisted of largely of families and groups of friends wishing to enjoy Christmas carols.
Kahiri of Qwela band surprised the crowd when he led them in a throw-back chorus of “We wish you a merry Christmas”. Myko Ouma queued in with an electrifying guitar version of “O Holy Night” and Maurice Kirya got the crowd on their feet with his hit songs “Busabaala and Never been loved before”

The evening which was sponsored by Radio City and The Sound Cup concluded with Maurice Kirya and Mo Roots leading the crowd in “silent Night”.
“The performances were ecstatic and the crowds really loved it. It was a great night to kick off Christmas at The Village Mall”, said Paul Mwirigi, Head Of Marketing for Knight Frank Uganda, managers of Village Mall. “This is part of our wider christmas campaign titled Turning Your Wishes Into Reality” which has been running from 27th November and ends on 20th December”

For those that would like to win fantastic Christmas prizes, “It basically rotates around the idea of making the Village Mall your Santa by visiting the mall, finding an object that you like and taking a picture with it, then sharing it on the Village Mall-Bugolobi Facebook page. And listening in to capital FM to find out if you’re the lucky winner.”
